Who we are
This website is run by Rick Moore, trading as InControl Automation, 445 Livesey Branch Road, Blackburn, BB2 5BX. Rick is responsible for any personal information collected through this website (the "data controller"). For any privacy question, email rick@incontrolautomation.co.uk or call 07939 820507.
What we collect
Contact form: if you send an enquiry, we receive your name, email address and message, plus anything else you choose to give: phone number, location or postcode, and the type of project.
Email and phone: if you contact us directly, we receive whatever details you send or tell us.
Technical information: our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
How we use it
We use your details only to reply to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to quote for, plan and deliver the work. We rely on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. We do not sell your information, use it for marketing lists, or share it with anyone except where needed to deliver your project (for example, a subcontracted electrician) or where the law requires it.
Where it is stored
Contact form messages are sent by email to rick@incontrolautomation.co.uk. The website and email are hosted by IONOS, which processes data on our behalf under its own data protection terms.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within two years. If you become a customer, we keep job and invoice records for six years, as required for tax and to support any warranty or follow-up work.
Cookies and third parties
This website does not set cookies and does not use advertising or analytics tracking.
Some pages load fonts from Google Fonts, and some project preview images and videos come from YouTube. When those load, your browser connects to Google's servers, which can see your IP address and basic browser information. YouTube video players are only loaded when you choose to play a video. Links to our Facebook, X and YouTube pages take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it. Email rick@incontrolautomation.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
