SPECIALIST SERVICES / INCONTROL

Intelligence needs infrastructure.

Wired and wireless systems that can support smart buildings properly.

OUR TECHNICAL SCOPE

Data networks & Wi-Fi
considered properly.

Every connected system depends on the quality of its network. We design the infrastructure that makes intelligent homes and modern premises work reliably.

High-performance Wi-Fi begins with sensible access-point placement and a wired backbone wherever practical. We consider switching, PoE budgets, cabinet layout, cable routes, coverage and the capacity required by AV, CCTV and automation systems.

The objective is not simply a good speed-test result. It is consistent, secure connectivity across the building and a network that can be diagnosed, serviced and extended.

Plan wired and wireless together

Wi-Fi is valuable, but it is not a substitute for a properly designed network. Fixed devices may be better on wired connections, while wireless coverage needs to consider building materials, floor layouts, interference and the number of devices competing for airtime.

Coverage is not the whole story

A strong signal icon does not always mean good performance. Roaming, capacity, bandwidth, switching, cabling and the placement of wireless access points can all affect video calls, streaming, security cameras and building controllers. We look at the complete path rather than treating every fault as a Wi-Fi problem.

A network should be maintainable

Clear labelling, sensible cabinet layout, adequate power and room to expand make future support less disruptive. Where appropriate, separating guest, household and infrastructure traffic can also make connected systems easier to administer.

Design for growth and resilience

Switch capacity, PoE allowance, uplink routes and spare network connections matter when a building gains more cameras, automation devices or access points. A well-planned network should grow without wholesale rewiring.
