15 / LIGHTING & CONTROL / WORK IN PROGRESS

Control behind
the lighting.

A lighting-control board, photographed mid-installation. It doesn't look finished, because it isn't, and that's the point.

01 / PROJECT DOCUMENTATION

What the picture
actually shows.

Control4 and LED lighting-control hardware, photographed part-way through the installation.

LIGHTING / POWER / CONTROL4

Behind a single
lighting scene.

Real-world lighting integration involves far more than choosing a strip and a controller. This board brings together several power supplies, DIN-rail components, terminal distribution and Control4 lighting modules.

Equipment position, wiring routes, distribution and commissioning all contribute to long-term reliability and serviceability.

Photographed on site, mid-installation, before final dressing and commissioning.

THE PROJECT / ENGINEERING IN PRACTICE

The decisions behind the result.

01 / WHAT IT IS

A real board, photographed mid-build.

This is a lighting-control board for an LED lighting scheme, still being worked on. It holds Control4 lighting modules, several LED power supplies, DIN-rail components and the terminal blocks where every lighting circuit is landed.

02 / WHY IT IS LAID OUT THIS WAY

A serviceable control installation.

Every light the client switches on is a circuit that starts here. The board has to:

  • keep mains and low-voltage control wiring segregated;
  • distribute the connected loads across suitably specified power supplies;
  • give each circuit a clearly identified termination, so a fault can be traced without guesswork;
  • leave appropriate access for testing, servicing and future work.
03 / WHY WE SHOW IT

Work doesn't look perfect halfway through.

We think it's good to show work in progress. Nothing looks perfect in the middle of an installation, and showing the steps is a more honest picture of how the work actually progresses than a single finished photograph.

02 / TECHNICAL CONTEXT

Multiple disciplines.
One outcome.

ELECTRICAL

Power distribution

Coordinating loads, power supplies and cable runs to support an integrated lighting solution.

CONTROLS

Control4 integration

Bringing the low-voltage control hardware and the user experience together.

ENGINEERING

Installed for maintenance

Thinking about cable separation, servicing access and commissioning from the outset.

Why show an unfinished job?

Because it shows the planning, electrical distribution and control integration that sit behind the finished lighting scenes.
